In the fields of Drama, Performing Arts and Musical Theatre, assessments are often dynamic and exciting moments in the students’ year, with live performances, experimental practice, public facing events, and complex synthesising of theory and practice – all of which can pose significant challenges for students and assessors, and which create a particularly important hot topic when it comes to progression and student satisfaction. This symposium offers the space for lecturers in these fields to share best practice, discuss common issues and explore innovations in designing assessment and delivering feedback. The day will include papers, practical workshops and an interactive performance involving students from Anglia Ruskin and Middlesex University, and will provide a rare opportunity to disseminate ideas and discuss common problems around Teaching and Learning within a subject specific environment.
We are interested in the full range of possibilities within our subject areas, and welcome input from tutors working on University programmes or Conservatoire training, and in collaboration with community or industry partners.
If you’d like to present a 20 minute paper, facilitate a workshop of between 30 minutes and 1 hour, or present with a small group of your students please send a brief abstract toHeather.Lilley@anglia.ac.uk by Jan 15th.
The event is free, with refreshments and lunch provided, but places will be limited, so if you’d like to participate please do get in touch.
