A pilot videomapping was developed by the I AM team at the AlexMed Institute of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, projected on the Library’s conference center in Alexandria in May 2014. It was the first time ever the technique was used for cultural rather than commercial purposes in Egypt. Its success has led the Library of Alexandria to expand this pilot to a further location and another historic and cultural topic.
On 17th September 2015 a videomapping show will highlight the history and the significance of Cleopatra. The most famous woman of Egyptian Antiquity will be “brought back to life” during a 3D video mapping show to be held in Alexandria, Egypt.
The show is organized in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities and will be projected on the façade of the Qaitbey Citadel throughout the evening of September 17th, starting 7:00 pm, to be repeated every 25 minutes.
